ROTTERDAM, NY (NEWS10) – Crafters and Artisans for Rescued Animals (CARA) is holding a fundraiser until December 6 to raise funds for shipping costs. The money will help send packages to rescue partners across the United States.
CARA will earn funds based on the total weight of lightly worn, used, and new pairs of shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for shoes collected. All donated shoes will be redistributed through the small business partners of the Funds2Orgs network. Funds2Orgs works with small businesses to help them start, maintain and grow businesses in developing countries. Proceeds from shoe sales raised at shoe fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families.
CARA President and Founder Bridger Battease says, “We are thrilled with our shoe drive,” “We know most people have extra shoes in their closets that they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we are raising money for CARA, which allows us to help more animal rescues, especially during the upcoming hurricane season, and we have the chance to help families in developing countries who need economic opportunities. It’s a win-win for everyone. »
Anyone can donate lightly worn, used or new shoes to the CARA Fundraising Store at Viaport Mall. CARA is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing free, handcrafted animal care products to rescuers and rehabilitators across the country, so they can focus on their animals in need.
