Golf: Inaugural charity tournament for the Bukit Jalil pet store

As part of their efforts to raise funds to move to new ownership, Paws Animal Welfare Society (Paws) is preparing to hold a golf tournament.

In a statement, Paws said: “One of their fundraising initiatives is the Paws Better Malaysia Foundation 2022 Inaugural Charity Golf Tournament, which will be held at Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur on September 9. “

The entry fee for an individual player is RM1,000 and RM4,000 for a flight of four.

Highlighting the need to host the tournament, the statement read: “The land along the old Subang Airport Road on which the facility has stood for 34 years has been classified as road reserve land. by the government.

“With this land soon to be developed, the Land Office has given Paws two months to move.

“The government has given the shelter another piece of land in Ara Damansara, but it is empty land divided by a reserved road. This is where the new Paws facility is going to be built.

The statement adds that Paws is “registered with the Companies Registry in Malaysia and is run by an elected committee.

“This is a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya that has been operating since 1987.

“They receive the release of unwanted cats and dogs, which they vaccinate, deworm, groom, neuter or neuter, and put up for adoption.

“Currently there are over 250 cats and 250 dogs in their care.

“The shelter and all costs associated with its operation are funded entirely by generous donations from the public, as well as proceeds from charitable events,” the statement said.

He added that all donations to Paws are tax deductible under Section 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967 and a tax free receipt will be issued.

“There are still slots available for tournament sponsors.”
