Urban Chestnut and Purina support local animal shelters with the launch of Urban Underdog 12-ounce “Pup” cans



ST. LOUIS – This fall, Purina and Urban Chestnut Brewing Company (UCBC) are kicking off their sixth annual “Raise a Pint for Pets” campaign by debuting new packaging for one of UCBC’s best-selling beers – Urban Underdog American Lager.

For the first time in the brewery’s 11-year history, UCBC will offer Urban Underdog in 12-ounce “pup” cans that are now available in specially-marked 15-packs. For every 15-pack of Urban Underdog sold between November 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023, Purina will donate $5 to local IMPETUS Coalition Petfinder Shelters to help more animals find their forever homes.* The IMPETUS Coalition is a group of 20 area nonprofit organizations dedicated to making the St. Louis area more humane for pets and their caregivers, and includes:

“At Purina, we’ve partnered with organizations in our hometown of St. Louis for more than 125 years,” said Kim Beardslee of Purina Community Affairs. “Our annual Raise a Pint for Pets campaign allows us to partner with our fellow pet lovers at Urban Chestnut while helping to raise awareness and funds for many amazing pet welfare organizations in our backyard. Helping local pets find their forever homes is as easy as enjoying a good beer from Urban Chestnut, and it doesn’t get any better than that!

This is the sixth consecutive year that Purina and Urban Chestnut have partnered for a philanthropic effort. Since its inception in 2017, the “Raise a Pint for Pets” campaign has raised over $250,000 for local animal shelters.

New to this year’s campaign, Purina and UCBC have created 30 premium Raise a Pint for Pets gift sets that will be raffled off at select St. Louis-area retail stores. Prize sets include: Purina picnic basket, YETI dog bowl, 12 oz YETI can insulator, 15 pack of specially marked new Urban Underdog American Lager, Purina dog leash and 6 oz bag of Purina Beggin’ Take Away Dog Treats. Each prize package is worth $125.
